Big Dreams – Hard Work

The question for the day is “How big do you want to dream and how hard do you want to work?”  There is nothing that is worth having that comes easy unless things are “handed” to you.  Even then there may be a price that you have to pay.  All of us have dreams which are wonderful and the fantasy of achieving those dreams can carry us through days, weeks, months and years.  It is in the working to achieve the dream that reality begins to sit in.

Many times I have had clients, friends and family discuss with me the struggles to achieve – even in minor things.  “I dieted all week and gained two pounds”, “I studied for weeks for that test and ended up with a C-“, or “My work just never seems to be enough for my boss!”  At those times people feel like giving up…it doesn’t seem worth the ongoing struggle!  Yet there is something that pulls them back, rallies their spirits, and helps them to start the struggle once again.  It seems to me it has to do with that earlier question: “How big do you want to dream and how hard do you want to work?”  We all have the capacity to make our dreams come true by doing the hard work.  The only thing that can stop that from happening is an unwillingness to DO the work.  You can lose that weight, make that grade A and finally be acknowledged by that boss if you only stay on your path.

The struggles are so worth the end result no matter what time it takes to achieve the goal.  One success encourages another success whether within ourself or amongst other people… I have seen it and I am sure you have, too.  So, back to my original question, “How big do you want to dream and how hard do you want to work?”  Take the power of you, consider your dreams and decide on what work needs to be done….it is now up to you!

“Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it’s always your choice.”  –  Wayne Dyer
