If I Could Start Over

Recently I was reading a column by David Brooks who writes for The New York Times. In his article, “A moral bucket list for a rich inner life” he wrote:
“About once a month I run across a person who radiates an inner light. These people can be in any walk of life. They seem deeply good. They listen well. They make you feel funny and valued. You often catch them looking after other people, and as they do so their laugh is musical and their manner is infused with gratitude. They are not thinking about what wonderful work they are doing. They are not thinking about themselves at all.”
These words are so impactful and I encourage you all to read this article in its entirety. These words, hopefully, make us all consider if we radiate that kind of inner light. I must confess that I am sure that I do not radiate that kind of light but I know I have been working on it for years. It has always been something that I instinctively knew was the healthy thing to do. How about you?
What does it take to reach inner light? Ah the million dollar question. Mr. Brooks did a nice job of attempting to answer this question. I believe there are infinite ways to reach this wonderful final destination. The unique character of each person has so much to do with individually how we will reach inner light. What all of us know for sure is that we have to get started on the process if we are ever to reach the goal.
So here is my challenge to each of you. Do something daily that moves you closer to inner light! Then email me to let me know the steps you are taking and the progress you are making. YOU are worth the effort and everyone around you will have the benefit! Good Luck to us all!
