Your Personal Mark

Some artists have dynamic and distinctive signatures. Corporations brand themselves with identifying logos. Many products and product lines are branded with a unique mark. And, of course, cattle ranchers brand their cattle with brands.  So if you were to design your personal mark, what would it be?

How important is it to you to have a “distinctive mark” or “signature” so that other people can’t get you out of their minds?  Most of us do not want to be overlooked by anyone.  We want to be noticed at some level.  At what point does wanting to be noticed or remembered become problematic?

So what sets you apart from others?  What is recognizable, appealing, mysterious or unique about you?  What is that one component or element about you that keeps others interested in a positive way?  Find those things that set you apart from the other faces in the crowd and you will go a long way to being successful in your life.

Become well known for one thing.  Make sure that one thing is something you want to be well known for and that it is a positive, healthy thing.  What is the one thing that you believe comes to mind when people think about you?

Those people who can attract attention via a simple association have a decided advantage in this “flooded with too much information” world.  Work to create your personal mark and fully live it.  Live your brand – your personal mark – it is your story.

“A brand is a story that is always being told.” – Scott Bedbury
