Fear of Failure

Fear of failure is one of the greatest fears that people have.  Failure is related to criticism and rejection for most people.  Fear incapacitates unsuccessful people while successful people work to overcome their fear of failure.

Have you heard of the Law of Feedback?  It states:  “there is no failure; there is only feedback.”  Successful people look at mistakes and failures as a result and utilize this as a learning tool.  It becomes something on which to build.  Take action NOW!

Most people tend to limit themselves and achieve only a portion of what they are actually capable of achieving.  Often this is because they are afraid to try for fear of failure.

Take action.  Be bold and decisive.  Do not allow fear to immobilize you.  Action gives you the power to change circumstances and overcome inertia.  Dr. Robert Schuller often asks people: “What would you do if you knew you could not fail?”  We say be brave and go for it.  If it doesn’t work out use it as a learning tool.  Then do something different.  Take action NOW!

Buckminister Fuller wrote, “Whatever humans have learned had to be learned as a consequence only of trial and error experience.  Humans have learned only through mistakes.”  I must admit I have made more than my fair share of mistakes.

Ask yourself these questions:  “What was the mistake?”  “Why did it happen?”  “How could it have been prevented?” and “How can I do better next time?”  Use what you learn to get different results the next time.  Take action NOW!

Failure is nothing to be feared rather to be revered.  Persist in your efforts to learn lessons from mistakes.  The task is well worth it for you and everyone around at the time.

“Feel the fear and do it anyway.” – Susan Jeffers
