Forward motion is the act of moving forward (as toward a goal) onward motion, advancement, progress, progression, or procession. Moving forward in life surely is the goal for the majority of us humans. Whether we consider our desire to reach a goal of some sort, to have a purpose for doing some action or merely because we believe that is what we are “supposed to do”, our tendency is to keep striving forward. So what does it take to maintain forward motion?
- Conquer insecurities – we all have fears about our abilities to do certain behaviors yet we have to be willing to take calculated risks in order to move forward
- Embrace strengths – every person has a number of strengths to draw from in life and it is a matter of recognizing each of those and putting each into action
- Change perspective – people see things based on the filters of their own lives and if we take the time to understand the opportunities in front of us we more than likely will begin to achieve different results
- Get comfortable – one must become comfortable in uncomfortable situations
Merely considering these four actions will help you to have forward motion. Although rocket growth may not be immediate at least you will not be moving backwards. Work to be both persistent and consistent with these actions and in a short period of time you will be well on your way to reaching to goals you have established for yourself.
“A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement.” – Bo Bennett
