February 23, 2013Marijuana: Harmful or Harmless?
March 8, 2013Death and Addiction – Not an Option
A sad thing happened to a rising star not long ago…MIndy McCready apparently killed herself. Reports state that she had been “spending her nights drinking and screaming about everything”. This woman was an accomplished singer who in 1996 had a debut album that sold over 2 million copies and launched a number one hit. She also had two sons aged 6 years old and 10 months old…now motherless. She had been court ordered to a rehab program and left after one day…within 10 days she had, it is assumed, killed herself by gunshot. How did she fall so far? All of that potential gone!
Pain is a difficult entity to manage whether it be physical or emotional. Sometimes it is just too much to bear for people. Many will make attempts to revive their lives and start over only to recognize how difficult a process that can be. Building character is not an easy task but a necessary one if we are to survive and ultimately thrive. There has to be something worth living for, something worth the effort of the struggle for finding the path to hope. The first step to recovery is always the most difficult but the end result came be a beautiful life. Reach out for help rather than give up the fight….there is always a way through. Cope! Find the courage to live another day even one moment at a time. Life is worth it! We can not allow addiction to win over a life well lived. Help is out there…find it, use it, appreciate it, and get healthy.
“Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go.”
– William Feather
